Still Life Photography

A brilliant piece of advice I was given from a lecturer surrounded the basis of design work; He taught about how effective graphics are often born from physical work that you can experiment with. This allows the space for exciting and unique design to develop naturally during the creative process, not limited by the digital, and exhibited through the quality of the outcome. Photography, illustration, and other mixed media approaches have continued to be the bedrock of my design work. These are skills I’ve given great focus into developing, believing that quality and truly ‘good’ design is very difficult to achieve in digital isolation. I’ve found that creative literacy, when relating to the creation of tacile media, is one of the foundational aspects to a successful designer.
